On their own planet of Ednos there was another intelligent species. These creatures were called the Clarksonians. Just like the Ednardians they were very warmongering types. They were also amphibians. They started to make war in ancient times. This organised the Ednardians. The war that followed lasted to the post industrial age, The Clarksonians were wiped out by the Ednardians because(partially) they could not tolerate fire and so never developed steam power and steam engines.
