Ardatha was originally inhabited by a people called the Ardathi. The Ardathi spoke Ardathan, a Cresic language closely related to Old Cresian. As the Ardathi—a people closely related to the Cresii—were one of the first people conquered by the empire, they left no significant traces of a distinct culture.
As one of the oldest imperial provinces, Ardatha—like Cresiopolis—was relatively more urbanized and wealthier than the rest of the empire. A post in Ardatha was highly coveted since it provided high income and less scrutiny from the imperial government than Cresiopolis.
