[edit] Ecosystem

Jungleworld is covered entirely in a species of tree designed from scratch by the Gold King. It reproduces by growing monsters from its thick branches, which then break free and go about looking for something to kill; often they destroy trees as well. This process of seed-bearing and destruction is counterbalanced by the Green Circle, a moving region on the planet's surface where the monsters take root, forming new trees. Within this circle, no new seeds are formed; the monsters simply take root and wait for the circle to pass elsewhere, so that they can begin producing more monsters. Thus the forest density of Jungleworld maintains a natural balance.

[edit] The Green Circle

The Green Circle is a circle of peace on the surface of violent Jungleworld. In most of Jungleworld, monsters sprout form the trees, and travel about on a destructive rampage. Not so in the Green Circle; any monster that enters here takes root, forming a tree or shrub that will someday produce monsters when it slips beyond the bounds of the Green Circle. The Green Circle moves about, which manifests as the "Green Man" - a near-Kelosian creature with green skin that roams the jungle, bringing peace and growth wherever he goes.

The Green Circle is approximately 4978789.7537433 MDU miles in radius, and moves on average 621.31147135255 MDU per STU. The Green Man is able to manifest freely in different parts of the circle, but when he walks normally, the circle itself moves.

Monsters have been known to travel up to twenty miles into the circle before taking root and becoming trees.

[edit] Effects on Visitors

Visitors to the Green Circle are brought into mental contact with the collective minds of the trees in the Green Circle, which are in a peaceful state. Those who have communed with the trees at length tell stories of the wild life outside the Green Circle, but always from the perspective of a tree telling about its past.
