[edit] Overview

Rola has the largest extraterrestrial settlement in the Kelos System. It was remarkable for scientists to realize that millions of years prior there was abundant life on Rola until there wasn’t enough tectonic activity to keep the greenhouse effect. The significance of this ancient life was that through violent geology an unbelievable abundance of fossil fuels was created in the older part of the crust of the Southern Hemisphere.

Rola boasts the tallest mountain in the Kelos System, Mount Illymia. This has become an interstellar thrill spot. Located in an unsettled, inhospitable area of the planet, travelers hike across highlands and cracked Crystaldeep to climb the peak. Mount Illymia Base Camp is a large settlement at the base of the mountain where thousands visit every month to see the landmark. Another huge tourist spot is Marine Valley, one of the largest systems of canyons in the Kelos System.

Since oil was discovered on Rola thirty years ago, it became the destination for millions of Kelosians. Station Eve was established by the Congress of Crystaldeep and in only two years became Eve City. Hundreds of cities popped up seemingly over night, many of the independent. Most of the settlements were built in the Northern Hemisphere where the terrain is much more hospitable, however, the tourism industry that exploded after the influx of population, created a numerous amount of cities in the Southern Hemisphere as well.

Rola is considered Congressional Space, but nations and independents have claimed quite a bit of land. Almost 35% of the planet has been claimed to date. The Congress of Crystaldeep has preserved several tourism spots, including Mount Illymia, Marine Valley, and Hot Plains a very large crater.
