Constructing a galaxy

Basilicus is a world-building project focused in the Basilicus Prime Galaxy, a fictional galaxy home to both advanced and feudal societies. Although several civilizations have ventured off into neighboring star systems, several others have not reached the technological knowledge to traverse the four corners of their own planet. This leaves a wide range of possibilities open to a world-builder, as there are hundreds of locations, organizations, creatures and technologies waiting to be envisioned. Anything from castle dotted landscapes to Mega-Utopian societies. The only limitation world-builders have, is how far their imagination will take them.Visit the Step by Step and Building Worlds articles to become oriented.

Worldbuilding?

Have you ever finished reading a book or watching a movie/TV show and wondered what the rest of its world was like- this is where worldbuilding could trace its beginnings. If its was not for J. R. R. Tolkien, Gene Roddenberry, George Lucas and countless others dreaming up their worlds, we would not have some of the most beloved universes and worlds today. Not to forget, the countless amounts of people who spent days, weeks, months and even years creating the backstories to these works. Think about how bland Star Trek and Star Wars would be, without all of these other works. So, let your imagination run wild, and maybe one day, we will be dreaming up stories and writing novels about your worlds.

Wiki
In the hope of improving the visual aspects of the wiki, I've created a few placeholder images with the aim that every entry can eventually have an image (even if it's just temporary), without having to resort to taking copyrighted images from google image searches. I encourage you to use them, and please let me know if you'd like a new type added. Help:PlaceholderImages has a full list of placeholders you can use - Novodantis (talk) 22:29, March 7, 2013 (UTC)
