From Basilicus

This contains notes for conversion to Basilicus when I get around to it.

  • Convert Negatron to Antheon
  • Hollowstar's invasion of Aragithia - include that?

[edit] Antheons

From the mind of Negatron

We colonized because of an extraordinary drive to multiply. Although our lifespans were increasing faster than we could age, our females were constantly with child, and yet it was not enough. We roamed the universe, seeking more like us... we failed at what Hollowstar did by accident. You fled your world at its death and found your own kind in Malegus, though you had no common ancestor. This is waht we sougth to do, seeking through every planet in the galaxy, pushing lesser species aside in search for our own kind. Finally, we had to make it ourselves. In the Zaga System, deep in the Prime Core, we made the Zea. They had forms like you, Kelosian forms, Highlord forms... we were the first. They were the second. We gave them a technology that even we had not used thoroughly... we gave them the intergalactic wormhole. The Zea accepted it, the Zea mastered it. The Zea spread to every galaxy, rapidly colonizing one planet in each galaxy. We never gave them interstellar transportation. They never wanted it. The Zea discovered interplanetary

[edit] Gresholm

Gresholm uses an artifact of Hollowstar to survive, and is extremely vulnerable, killable by almost any blow. However, he has the ability to travel between dimensions at will and attack a dimension other than the one he is in. So he travels to another dimension and batters the heroes until they finally drop. It's a teleport-type (tear from within) attack, so even Ethian won't be able to evade it (except by fleeing the planet).

Gresholm dates from my Hollowstar card game, where I gave him the special ability "Can't be attacked." The way to beat him was by some sort of effect negation or damage that did not involve an attack, or by an effect that removed the tool that allowed him to survive. I may use him in the final battle for the end of Hollowstar, probably after a visit to the warehouse of cryptically labeled artifacts.

[edit] From a discussion of a potential new Hollowstar character

Option 1: Hollowstar Cyborg Series: Those abilities sound like a counterpart to Iban. He could be Oban or Uban, one of the androids made shortly after Iban. But if he's to be part of that series, his past as something besides Hollowstar will have to go.

Option 2: Captured by the son of Melchas Outsiders absorbed by Hollowstar become independent artifact users, metromages or members of one of the two armies (Geometron or Chronos), depending what age they are in. But Hollowstar only kidnaps people against their will in the new roleplay, which I will call the Extended First Age (as far as Hollowstar goes). That bio is just fine for the extended first age, though.

Option 3: Captured by Melchas or Temos These minor kings of Hollowstar during the Golden Age didn't have the power to go about capturing planets, but they could have invaded a planet and captured just him, then trained him as their warrior. They would be more likely to take special interest in a single powerful warrior than the Gold King would.

Option 4: Independent Artifact User An Independent Artifact User joins the army of his own free will, often in exchange for artifacts of Hollowstar. He can be just about anyone who knows about Hollowstar - possibly someone whose planet has a Hollowstar base (which is as close as Golden Age Hollowstar got to conquering planets). He would be able to get to Hollowstar through the base, and the Gold King is always interested in more warriors. After some time in the deathless arena, he would be allowed to go on missions with the army. Those on good terms with Hollowstar can usually purchase artifacts.

Option 5: Join a Second or Third Age Group This would require him being on Peresedas for some reason, or on a particular island if he is to become a Metromage. He would keep his racial abilities and gain abilities based on the group he joined. Metromages have the ability to convert the energy they gain by eating into magic (a counterpart to his racial ability). The army of Geometron includes metromages, so he could be both, but the army of Geometron puts him on a team that together can perform powerful magic. The army of Chronos grants various time-control abilities.

[edit] Onan

From Gideon, part of Hollowstar Cyborg Series - force fields on arms that stick out of wrists and act as blades, plus levitation and high speed. Cuts fortresses out of solid rock in a matter of minutes.

[edit] Poinesta

Poinesta has a 24-hour day and orbits an Earth-like sun slightly closer than Earth orbits Sol. Nearly half the planet is rainforest. The workings of free magic have prevented the inhabitants of Poinesta from developing much technology, since while science usually works it is not completely reliable. The inhabitants are nearly human, but the human base has long been distorted under the influence of free magic. Everyone has their little quirks. (Querrot comes from here)

[edit] Army of Chronos

  • Timekeeper Clockmaster: Kill Instantly
  • Timekeeper Tick: Move at double speed
  • Timekeeper Agelaw: Causes things to age at a year a minute
  • Timekeeper something to do with singing

[edit] Field Artifacts

[edit] Test of Meekness

Damage greater than double the amount needed to kill is negated.

Reworded (Magical): If a living creature is damaged beyond recognition, it is restored to its original, recognizable state.

[edit] Test of Time

All special abilities fail for two minutes.

Reworded: For every object, randomizes all quantum particles in that object and negates all magic associated with that object for two STU of its own time.

[edit] Test of Faith

When a character is violently killed after being in battle for less than a minute, one ally dies.

Reworded (Magical): If a living creature is violently killed after a period of conflict between 0 and 1 STU, the killer chooses one living creature that would have attempted to rescue the victim and kills it.

[edit] Crown of Hollowstar

Kings of Hollowstar are not eliminated except by violent death.

[edit] Crown of Light

When the Gold King is killed, another creature may sacrifice itself to resurrect him.

[edit] Crown of Clans

[edit] Crown of Darkness

[edit] Space Equalizer

The speed of light becomes 300 MDU/STU.

[edit] Verdict of Solid Space

[edit] More

  • Orb of Aftershock

-Causes attacks to repeat their effects more weakly several times after the actual attack

  • Repeat

-Raises a few specific people from the dead

  • Orb of Nothing

-Does nothing, but can be imbued with magic by wizards

  • Rod of Anger

-A club that greatly multplies the wielder's strength

[edit] Weapons

[edit] Barrier Wand

Invulnerable hollow cylinder capable of replication infinitely but temporarily. Replicas are immovable relative to magically defined surroundings, but the original is not.

[edit] Demon Spear

Teleport to target and damage it, then double in destructive power. The target can then wield it. The spear flies only under its own power, not under the power of the wielder.

[edit] Hollowstar language

Iban is the Hollowstar word for eight. Actually, words depend a lot on context, but when word eight is used without any controlling context and starts with a vowel, it means "person number eight." If there's another person number eight around, you have to call him "Android Iban" to prevent ambiguity. There is a longer Hollowstar term that means "Android," but all of Hollowstar understands Kelosian, so the two languages are usually mixed.

In case you're interested, the other Hollowstar word for eight is "Fa" or "Fan" or "Fana" or "Fanan"... or however many "an"s you want to add. The number of letters in a word changes the meaning of the next word in the sentence - unless it's a Kelosian word.
